West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation (WVHTC)
The WVHTC Foundation mission is to serve as a catalyst to further integrate and cultivate the West Virginia technology community, and to diversify and strengthen West Virginia's economy.
Our vision is prosperity for the regional high technology business community and a high quality of life and standard of living for the citizens of West Virginia. Critical to the realization of this vision is a sustainable and diverse economy that offers an opportunity for West Virginians to have fulfilling and rewarding employment and for technology businesses, especially small businesses, to prosper, now and in the future. To enable this new economy, the WVHTC Foundation will become known globally as one of the premier technology parks on the East Coast of the United States. It will become a key facilitator of a vibrant technology workforce that fuels the technology business growth of West Virginia well into the future. It will become a world-class enabler of commercial technology business growth. It will conduct the highest quality technology research and development.

The WVHTC Foundation will be an innovator and a facilitator. As an innovator, it will monitor and assess scientific developments and opportunistically pursue research funding to support future development and creative commercial applications. As a facilitator, it will actively pursue efficient and effective coordination of technical, financial, and governmental resources to assure that the regional economic benefits of these commercial applications are maximized. The goal is not to compete with the local business community, but to focus on getting the job done. The WVHTC Foundation will actively encourage growth and quality improvement in West Virginia businesses so that their contributions will be timely and maximized. It will form a strong alliance with the regional advanced technology community, which includes government entities, academic institutions, scientific and technology institutes, and, in particular, private sector entities that ultimately can translate advanced technology opportunities into regional economic benefits. It will actively promote their creation, their expansion as a regional presence, and their economic successes. It believes the presence and practice of high technology leads to more and better jobs, improved schools, added infrastructure, and an attractive quality of life. It therefore seeks to create, acquire, and use high technology to help build a new West Virginia, a land economically developed with opportunity for ensuing generations.
